MEET ABBY
I am a registered Marriage Commissioner appointed by the Government of Alberta. I have performed over a thousand ceremonies since I was appointed in 2005. When not performing weddings, I can be found teaching Dramatic Arts to students at the Calgary Girls Charter School. I'm also a theatre artist, professional writer & director, speech coach and artistic producer. I have worked with many theatre companies and artistic organizations in our amazing city and across the country. I've also spent many years working as an event planner for various organizations across the country.
I pride myself on my commitment to each couple that I have the wonderful opportunity to marry. Whatever your needs are, I will ensure you feel confident and excited about all of the details of your marriage ceremony. I work closely with you and your partner to create a unique ceremony that you will remember and reflect upon. I also take time to find out if there are any perceived challenges in the way in terms of the execution of your ceremony, put any fears or concerns you may have to rest and reassure you about the direction the ceremony is taking. As well, we determine if a wedding rehearsal would be something you and your wedding party could benefit from.
I understand that this is one of the most important days of your lives together. I can help you realize your dreams of a perfect day. The work we do together to create your ceremony is essential to your wedding day.
I've been married to my super awesome husband, Geoff, since 2012. We were married legally on February 29th at Rouge restaurant and then had a renewal of vows at the Southern Alberta Pioneers' Association later on that summer. We love adventures, traveling, hiking and skiing. We are Netflix addicts and go to as many movies as we can. Our co-pilot: our little dog Stan, wins our hearts each and every day and reminds us of the importance of unlimited love and living in the moment.
